Peace.
Kimi'Sung is my professional name, however, I am also known by my legal name, Meru Nombeko-Aisha Kheop. I founded Taisna Group in 2009 for my children. Black Vision is a video series that I created to bring visual art appreciation to young people through historic narratives.
As a nature enthusiast, I created The Natural Inspiration Collection, a line of photographic art from my journey as a homeschooling mom.
I am a performing artist by profession, which began at age 17 in California where she graced the stages of Santa Rosa Junior College, Lorraine Hansberry Theatre, American Conservatory Theatre, Bay Area Playwrights Festival, Theatre Rhinoceros, Los Angeles Theatre Center, and Berkeley Repertory Theatre where I was an acting intern under the direction of Sharon Ott; and became union member of SAG (SAG-AFTRA) and AEA in 1988.
I began producing for the stage at age 21 when I became the Founder and Artistic Director of the newly established Potrero Hill Theatre Company in San Francisco under the mentorship of Danny Glover. I give such appreciation for Ms. Enola Maxwell who told me that I could do it. May she rest in eternal power. Danny, you, genuinely, gave to us in the Bay Area. Much love and respect.
My performing arts journey, however, began in my hometown village of Harlem at the Harriet Tubman Elementary School, and in Gramercy Park NYC at Simon Baruch Junior High School where Erica Gimpel, Jon Cryer, Robert Downey, Jr. and Kadeem Hardison also attended. Boy, do I have some fun stories of performing in Bye-Bye Birdie, West Side Story, Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat and more; and at Lincoln Center’s Avery Fisher Hall and Carnegie Hall under the direction of Dr. Robert Sharon. What a gift Dr. Sharon gave to us as young students. At 16 I left NYC to begin college at Santa Rosa Junior College in Northern California. That is where, thanks to Dr. Joan Lee LaSalle, I developed public speaking skills, stage management, and confidence in my abilities as an artist.
Later, I have performed such stages as: American Conservatory Theatre, Los Angeles Theatre Center, Alliance Theatre, Geva Theatre, Portland Stage Company; Long Wharf Theatre and Kansas City Repertory Theatre as well as Playwright’s Horizons and the 18th Street Playhouse in NYC. Recently, I've had the utmost pleasure in serving on the Women in Film and Media KC and directing graduate students in theatre at the University of Missouri-Kansas City.

I am currently the curator for a play-reading ensemble that reads monthly.
